A little more about Tim...
What do you do at TSG Creative?
I head up the web team and I’m very much one of those odd hybrid designer and developer types. From a design aspect I have built countless interfaces over my 11 years in web. I backup that design experience with an ability to code in a multitude of languages. At TSG we mainly develop in VB ASP.net, but can if needed switch disciplines and code in C#, Java and PHP.
In addition clients often comment on my ability to make an awesome cup of tea and the great ideas I bring to kick off meetings.
What website do you most visit?
Techcrunch, Twitter and the BBC are my usual haunts.
What do you like to do out of the office?
I have a passion for the web outside of the working day. I spend my time experimenting and working with mobile web and Android development, reading design publications and technical books. To relax I often lose countless hours learning and playing songs on my guitar. I love live music/gigs and have a growing fascination for real ale.
What favourite things could you not live without?
I couldn’t live without my guitar, HTC phone, iPod and curry.
Favourite band/album?
The Strokes – Is this It.
From past or present who has provided you with inspiration?
For me the whole web community is my inspiration. I read a lot of blogs and like using Twitter to explore to new web trends and techniques.
In regards to web personalities you can’t go far wrong by listening/reading to what Jeffrey Zeldman and Paul Boag have to say. Jeffery Zeldman inspired me to build websites that are standards based and accessible to the masses and Paul Boag is a great speaker and his blog and podcast is a constant source of knowledge and enjoyment.
