Mobile Websites
How people are browsing the web has changed massively over the past few years. The desktop computer only web experience is a thing of the past, and alone there are 11 million UK smart phone
users. Since the emergence of devices like the iPhone and iPad there is an ever growing amount of people who are buying and are connecting to the web using an array of smart phones and
portable devices.
With this growth comes an ever rising user expectation that companies who own websites should be delivering the same rich, usable web experience they have come accustomed on their desktops
but this time on their mobile device.
At TSG Creative we have been pro-active to this shift in web browsing activity and now our developers are now in a position where we can offer mobile web development solutions. Our team is
well place to advise, develop and support your organisations mobile web project.
Mobile App
What are mobile applications?
Whether it’s an iPhone, Android, Windows or Blackberry people Mobile applications are written to perform a particular function or task, whether it’s a game, utility etc.
Mobile applications fall into one of two categories Native or Web.
Native Mobile Applications
A native mobile application is a piece of software which is written in a language which will only run specifically on that device’s operating system (OS) For example you can’t
download iPhone app and run it on a mobile phone which runs on an Android or Windows OS.
The major advantage of a naive app is that the whole app is contained on the phone so you don’t need a connection to the web in order to use it. Another advantage of native apps is
the ability to tap into any key functionality/tools that the specific OS you’re developing for offers. For example you could have an app which utilises the iPhones camera to scan product codes.

Typically a most web applications are coded in HTML and JavaScript but today a lot of developers are opting to build apps in the emerging technology of HTML5.
The major advantage of mobile web apps is that they are cross device. So on most of today’s smart phones user’s will experience same application whether they use it on an iOS,
Android or Windows device. Another advantage is that you mobile application isn’t just limited to use on a mobile or tablet devices you that your mobile web app is accessible on
a standard desktop internet browser.
